Equimec Paste for Horses

Equimec Paste offers comprehensive oral parasite control for horses. It effectively treats and controls roundworms, including arterial larval stages of Strongylus vulgaris and benzimidazole-resistant small strongyles, as well as bots and skin lesions caused by Habronema, Draschia spp. (summer sores), and Onchocerca spp. microfilariae (cutaneous onchocerciasis). Suitable for horses of all ages, including mares and stallions, this broad-spectrum paste targets a variety of internal parasites. It is designed to control Large Strongyles, Small Strongyles, Hairworms, Pinworms, Bots, Large mouth stomach worms, Intestinal threadworms, Neck threadworms, and Lungworms. The low-dose formula is easy to administer using the handy trigger applicator, ensuring precise and effective treatment every time.

Directions
  • Administer paste orally at a dosage of 200 µg ivermectin per kg of the horse’s body weight.
  • A single syringe can treat a horse weighing up to 600 kg.
  • Each weight marking on the syringe plunger delivers 1.07 g of paste, suitable for 100 kg of body weight.
  • Unlock the knurled ring by turning it a quarter turn and slide it up the plunger shaft to the correct weight marking.
  • Secure the knurled ring by turning it a quarter turn to lock it in place, then remove the plastic cap from the nozzle.
  • Ensure the horse’s mouth is free of any feed before administering the paste.
  • Insert the syringe into the side of the horse’s mouth, in the gap between the front and back teeth.
  • Press the plunger fully to release the paste onto the back of the tongue.
  • Immediately lift the horse’s head for a few seconds to ensure the entire dose is swallowed.

  • Suitable for pregnant mares throughout all stages of pregnancy.
  • Treatment of stallions poses no adverse effects on fertility.
  • Ensure a minimum 21-day interval before slaughtering horses intended for human consumption.
  • Not intended for use in animals destined for human consumption.
